So perhaps you've heard, but a tornado hit Vancouver, WA yesterday. And directly in our neighborhood. Our house is undamaged, but two houses to the west and one house to the south all lost trees...the neighbor two houses behind us lost a couple of trees and I saw a picnic table in another one of their trees. Just a few houses to the east of us on our road, several houses had uprooted trees laying across their yard, car or house. The damage was extensive on our road. Thanks to Clark Public Utilities and city service personnel we had power back by 8:30pm and several of our neighbors got the help they needed in getting trees off of their houses or cars. It was amazing and surprising. The tornado arced around us from the west, behind us and to the east. Quite fortunate. Click the flickr link for pictures.
