A trip to Minnesota in February is not what most people plan on doing, but I had the opportunity through work to arrive on Valentine's Day. I only needed to stay in Stillwater through the 17th, but decided to extend my stay by an extra day. A rental car, bare and dry roads, crisp blue skies and -14degree weather (not including the windchill) made for a lovely drive from MSP to Long Prairie...a two hour drive. Brad's Grandma had lunch ready for me. We enjoyed a nice visit, shared pictures and I left with cookies and candies. I went back the way I came, but didn't have time to stop and see friends in my old town, Little Falls...I'll have to save that for the next visit. (I am sorry Pam, Jane and Diane...I feel awful about it.) I did stop in Sartell to see a friend who just had a new baby girl. Josh and Angie just welcomed a third child and it was great to see them and their boys that are growing like weeds. I truly enjoyed their company. Just as dark was upon us and the stars became visible, I headed south again to Albertville to see my friend Lisa and her family. They are also expecting their third child. I had a great time with her family. We've been really good at keeping in touch since we moved west. It was good to see her family and new home...it gives a lot of context to our past and future conversations. I look forward to her visit out here in the spring. I am so glad I took the time to do this. As much as I miss everyone of my old friends, I just knew that I had to limit my visits to two or three people to get the quality time in the short trip. Heading east on HWY 27 entering Little Falls. I just left from visiting Brad's Grandma, Gladys in Long Prairie, a 30 minute drive. This picture may not seem special, but immediately behind the Fleet Supply, is the house that we used to live in. So this was our "road". Here is our house. Looks the same. Continuing east on 27 and into the main intersection of town. In this picture, I've just crossed over the Mississippi river...I'm on the east bank. This is the road that crosses with 27...can't remember the name. Looks the same. Lisa, Grace and Jack. At lunch for Lisa's birthday. Mike's gift to Lisa is a trip out to see us with Grace sometime in May! This is Grace...Lisa and Mike's daughter. She is precocious and a 4 year old doll. This is Jack, my friends' Lisa and Mike's little boy. He's got a cold and just finished eating. I just think this a sweet picture of him. Look at his big blue eyes!
