The boys were stoked about going to ski school all week and this morning the excitement was still heightened. Brad and I weren't sure the excitement would last because, as you know, learning something new isn't always so easy. And of course, we weren't sure how these boys would deal with being cold and/or uncomfortable all day. But they took to it pretty quickly and surprisingly during lunch, they were anxious to get back out there. Skills learned today were control of their skis, side-stepping, snow plowing and turning. They both did well in all skills and continued to have a smile on their face even after the umpteenth fall. At one point during the afternoon lesson, we came out of the lodge to check out how they were doing and we discovered that Oliver was not with his group. After looking all around, we found he had taken his skis off and headed for the hill. He was half way up and stopped to roll down the mountain like Wesley in Princess Bride. I think, aside from skiing for the first time, rolling down the hill was an ultimate goal for the day, as well as throwing snow balls.
